What a Winter!

The first part of this winter was spent wondering if we'd ever get any snow! We had several ice storms and then a few days of sub zero....FFFRRREEEEZZZZZINGGG temperatures!
Finally, on Jan. 27th we were blasted with almost a foot of the fluffy white stuff!
Beside enjoying the time off from school, Clayton has had little appreciation for the snow, saying,
"I wish it didn't have to be so cold to have snow!"

Courtney was initially excited and spent quite a bit of time helping Dad shovel the driveway.

The dynamic duo also set out to build a fort!

They are quite a team!

On another day we chose an indoor winter activity...Ice Skating!!!

Courtney zips around on the ice pretty well now. I could barely get her to stop for a picture.

Clayton is still our cautious one...but deserves a medal for persistence and creativity! He spent most of the time scooting around with a cone. But by the end of our skating session he had worked his way out to the middle and had recruited several kids in his efforts to scrape up "snow" from ice shavings and had built a nice mound in the middle of the ice rink.
